Al Waab, Doha

Nestled between Al Waab road and Salwa road from two sides, and enclosed in between Sports City street and Al Bustan street from the other two, Al Waab is a settlement situated between the municipalities of Doha and Al Rayyan in Qatar. One of the most posh areas popular with families and specially expats, Al Waab offers easy access to the main routes and is in close proximity to the Villaggio Mall and Aspire Park.

Living space is available in plenty. Traffic is mainly related to school sessions. Most families moving in to Al Waab look for accommodation in compounds which are available either as semi-furnished or fully furnished villas and apartments. There are some standalone villas also, but that tends to get slightly lonely, and may not have facilities nearby, like a swimming pool, which the kids may enjoy. While many towers and compounds dot the area, either under construction or fully operational, there are many you can chose from. Al Waab City, Beverly Hills area, Oasis and the Aspire Zone etc offer homes for every budget.

There are many landmarks in and around the Al Waab settlement, the most prominent being the Aspire Zone Foundation, also known as Doha Sports City, is a 250-hectare (2.5 km2) sporting complex located in Al Waab district of Doha, Qatar. It was established as an international sports destination in 2003 .

Khalifa International Stadium

The sporting venues include:

  • Hamad Aquatic Center, an Olympic-size swimming pool.
  • The Aspire Dome, which is the world's largest indoor multi-purpose sports hall and contains 13 different playing fields.

High perimeter walls and a guarded entrance make the park an extremely safe place to be for the kids. The play zone is shaded and clean, the play equipment is new and there are swings and play areas for kids of all ages. The park also caters to older children by way of a floodlit football pitch.

Doha College

The area is close to a lot of wonderful nurseries ;The American Lycetuff , Apple Tree Nursery and Busy Bee British Nursery are some of the good ones. The Doha Academy, Doha College, American School of Doha and Newton British School are some of the more sought after schools for kids in Al Waab.
